Plastic flower pots are robust and, above all, light. Due to their low weight, they are particularly suitable for balconies. However, the pots are often quite ugly. There is only one thing that helps: beautify the flower pot with simple means.

Different ways to beautify flower pots
In principle, there are no limits to personal imagination. Choose materials and patterns or paints and colors according to your taste. First of all, it is important that you make a work plan and collect all the necessary equipment.
First, make a drawing of how to proceed and what motifs should be on the pot.
Depending on which method you choose, you will need different materials.
paint pot
It is a simple method that can also be carried out very well with children. You need:
- Acrylic paints that adhere well to plastic
- Possibly stencils to paint or draw
- Spray paint, matt or glossy, for fixing
- fine sandpaper
Take a clean flower pot and lightly sand the sides. The color will hold up better that way. Choose different motifs or patterns and paint the pot. Once the paint has dried it can be fixed with spray paint.
Stone look pot
Any plastic plant pot is suitable for this noble embellishment. All you need is a granite effect spray from the hardware store and a pipe shell, which is used to insulate heating pipes, and an adhesive that is waterproof and frost-resistant.
Take the pipe shell and place it on the edge of the bucket to measure the length. The beginning and end of the pipe shell should touch. Coat the edge of the bucket with glue and slide the pipe shell onto the edge of the bucket. Cover the ends with fabric tape. Now spray the bucket with granite effect spray and let the whole thing dry for at least 24 hours. Then the noble "stone bucket" can be planted.
glue pot
Flower pots are very suitable for pasting. The choice of materials here is almost limitless. For example:
- Paper motifs
- small branches, birch is very decorative
- natural or colored pebbles
- coarse sand
- Mosaic stones from the hardware store
- self-made mosaic stones from old broken tiles
Once you have decided on a material, you only need the right adhesive and then you can start.
