Flower pots stand on the windowsill, the terrace or the balcony. If you cultivate a lot of plants, you will soon have no more space to set them up. A good solution is to simply hang the pot.

Advantages of hanging pots
Hanging pots are extremely practical as they don't take up floor space and leave room for other things. In the right places, they are extremely decorative and make even narrow spaces look airy and spacious.
Instead of buying expensive hanging pots, you can also use existing pots and create your own hanging devices with little effort.
Possibilities for hanging flower pots
Here everyone can get creative. Use existing material and create something new from it according to your wishes:
- Hanging pots made from old wooden boards
- Hanging pot made from a coconut
- old glasses as a hanging pot
Wooden hanging pot
You need worn-out boards, several pieces of rope of the same length and a drill (€97.00) with a large drill bit and a hole cutter.
- Cut the boards to the desired length.
- Drill large holes in the corners of the board.
- Use the hole cutter to cut a hole in the center of the board large enough for a flower pot to fit halfway through.
- Take four pieces of rope and thread each one through a hole in the corner of the board.
- Tie the rope in a knot under the board to keep it from slipping through again.
- Tie the ropes together at the top.
- Place the flower pot in the hole and hang it up.
A coconut as a hanging pot
If you like to eat coconuts, you can use the half shells as hanging flower pots. First drill a drainage hole in the middle of the bottom of the nutshell, then three or four more holes in the edge area. Here you attach ropes or chains for hanging. Finally, fill the coconut with potting soil and plant your flower.
Reuse old glasses as flower pots
Old mason jars are ideal as flower pots for plants that only need a little water. If you tie a pretty ribbon around the edge of the glass, the flower can be hung up well.
With the right drill and a little manual skill, a drainage hole can also be drilled into the glass bottom. With appropriate drainage, the glass is then suitable for any plant.
