- the beard flower
- the bubble spar
- the bloodcurrant
- the buckthorn
- the cinquefoil
- the garden hibiscus
The beard flower
The beard flower is a relatively small shrub that grows up to one meter high. Nevertheless, the shrub knows how to draw attention with its purple to blue flowers and its intense fragrance. The bearded beard only opens its flowers very late in the year and therefore offers insects an important source of food before winter.
The Bubble Spire
The Bladder Spider impresses all year round with its attractive leaf coloring in a wide variety of red tones. Butterflies and bees in particular literally flock to the white to cream-colored inflorescences. Birds, on the other hand, prefer to use the shiny red capsule fruits. The bladder spire grows on almost all soils.
The bloodcurrant
The blood currant has numerous advantages:
- resistant to powdery mildew
- hardy
- bears black fruit
- suitable as a hedge plant
As an early bloomer, the shrub is particularly valuable for bumblebees and bees.
The buckthorn
The alder buckthorn is visually characterized by its filigree growth and the blue-black fruits. Bees and bumblebees, on the other hand, enjoy the lush flowers, which boast a long flowering period. You can also cultivate the fast-growing shrub on the terrace or balcony.
The cinquefoil
Who would have thought that such an intense and long-lasting bloom would require so little maintenance? The cinquefoil is very undemanding, but mostly shines in intense yellow. Optionally, you can also get the shrub with it
- red
- whiter
- or pink flower.
The garden hibiscus
The flower of the garden hibiscus initially appears delicate and pastel-colored, but reveals an intensely colored center on closer inspection. Attention, not all mallow plants of this species are frost-resistant.
Note: When attracting the bugs, the wilder the better. It is best to plant as many plants as possible in your garden.
