In contrast to the real jasmine, which is not hardy and has to be overwintered, this is superfluous with the scented jasmine or mock orange. Older shrubs are absolutely winter-hardy and tolerate sub-zero temperatures without any problems. Freshly planted fragrant jasmine overwinters with light winter protection.

Scented jasmine is robust and easy to care for. It also withstands extreme cold without any problems. Older shrubs do not require winter protection.
If you have freshly planted fragrant jasmine, you should spread a mulch layer of leaves or compost under the shrub in autumn to be on the safe side. In the first few months, the roots do not go that deep into the earth. The mulch layer prevents the soil from drying out.
There is no need to wrap the parts of the plant above ground. Simply cut off frozen shoots in spring.
tips
In very dry winters, it makes sense to water young scented jasmine on frost-free days if you have not put on a mulch layer. Additional watering is no longer necessary for older plants.
