celery root

  • Sowing: bring indoors from February to March
  • Planting time: Celeriac can be outdoors after the ice saints from the end
    May
  • Harvest time: August to December
  • Storage: deep-frozen or overwintering in the cellar

celery stalk

  • Sowing: Indoors, celery is preferred from February to
    March
  • Planting time: from the end of May, when the night frosts are over
  • Harvest time: June to October, does not tolerate frost
  • Storage: consume fresh or freeze sliced

cut celery

  • Sowing: from May directly into the bed, from March into the cold frame
  • Harvest: first harvest from the beginning of June, second and third harvest in August and September
  • Storage: Leaves can be dried

tips and tricks

You can extend the celery season in the garden by covering with garden fleece or a poly tunnel (€11.46). The vitamin-rich vegetable can withstand temperatures down to minus 5 degrees Celsius.
