The botanical garden of Augsburg was founded in 1636 as a "city nursery" and is now one of the most popular destinations in the Fugger city. Located on the edge of the Siebentischwald, directly opposite the Augsburg Zoo, it offers peace and relaxation in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The Botanical Garden Augsburg is served by bus line 32; the bus stop is right in front of the entrance area. Due to its central location, it can be reached from the city center (Königsplatz) by public transport within 10 minutes.

There is also a sufficient number of parking spaces if you would like to travel by car.

You can discover over 3,000 plant species in the Botanical Gardens in Augsburg. The state horticultural show that took place on the site in 1985 was decisive for the appearance.

The magic of lights with musical accompaniment that takes place on some summer evenings is very popular. In cooperation with the German-Japanese Society in Augsburg, the Japanese Spring Festival takes place every year on Mother's Day. Let yourself be carried away by Far Eastern culture on this day, taste typical Japanese specialties and experience the special atmosphere spread by the numerous stands and demonstrations.


The Augsburg Zoo is located directly opposite the Botanical Garden. This also offers many interesting attractions. The visit can be excellently combined with a tour of the botanical garden.
