A well-designed bed should be free of weeds, but not bare. Uncovered soil is quickly blown away by the wind or washed away by rain. You can prevent this with plants or by covering with bark mulch.

As a rule, it is natural and without chemical additives. When peeling logs, the bark is crushed and then sold in different grain sizes.
You get the decorative bark mulch in different colors. Of course, these are environmentally friendly. With bark mulch you protect your beds from drying out in summer as well as from light frost in winter. Weeds can no longer spread so quickly there.
The effect of bark mulch:
- Protection against soil erosion, evaporation and frost
- keeps the soil moist
- prevents excessive weed spreading
- fertilizes the soil by rotting
tips
If you want colored bark mulch but not colored one, then use pine mulch from the Mediterranean region. It is intense rust red.
