Dried goji berries from international imports are now available in stores all year round and there is therefore no question of when they can enrich the menu. On the other hand, you can enjoy freshly harvested or self-processed goji berries in your own garden from around mid-August to September or October.

Caring for goji berries properly before harvest
When heat and drought prevail in the garden at the beginning of August, the Goji berry or wolfberry bushes that are already bearing fruit should be watered regularly. This allows the berries to fully ripen and reach a higher degree of sweetness by around mid-August.
The fruits of the goji berry ripen little by little
It is quite practical that the fruits of the goji berry gradually ripen along the branches and can thus be freshly harvested over a period of about six to eight weeks. They can be used in different ways:
- for fresh consumption
- for juices and jams
- to dry
- for processing in sauces, cakes, bread and salads
tips
Some hobby gardeners are unsure when the best time to harvest the goji berries is. Basically, the berries should not be picked too early, and they usually stay fresh better for later consumption directly on the bush than picked in the refrigerator.
