The easy-care brood leaf has quite pretty flowers. At least as interesting and decorative are the small daughter plants that grow on the notches of the conspicuously jagged leaves. The easy-care brood leaf takes care of the propagation all by itself.

When does the brood bloom?
Most species of Broodleaf, also called Kalanchoe, flower during the winter when the days are shorter. The shorter lighting time is very important for these plants to flower at all. For at least four weeks, they must not get more than eight to ten hours of light a day.
The essentials in brief:
- flowering time in winter
- blooms only after "lack of light" or darker periods
- cool hibernation promotes beautiful flowering
tips
If you want your brood leaf to bloom profusely, then give it the opportunity for a sufficient hibernation at approx. 10 °C to 12 °C and a maximum of eight to ten hours of light per day.
