There's a person sitting on a bench with shoes and jeans… but they don't even have a torso! Plants protrude from the hull. Planted jeans command attention and amazement. It is not at all difficult to plant a pair of jeans. The following instructions will show you how.

If the jeans are to stand up on their own, the shoes must be weighed down sufficiently

Give shape to the jeans

The jeans are not completely filled with soil, that would be waste and would lead to the jeans rotting. Instead, you can fill it with e.g. cuddly toy filling material, polystyrene or construction foam and give it the desired shape - only up to the buttocks, because there must be space for the plants here. Or you can do it as in our instructions.

Planting the jeans step by step: Instructions

material

  • Jeans
  • a pair of shoes
  • two wooden slats in leg length
  • a small chipboard
  • old fabric, styrofoam, water noodles, insulating tube or similar
  • Construction foam or cement or a strong glue
  • gravel
  • screws for wood
  • Flower pot with saucer

tool

  • cordless drill
  • saw

1. Cut wood

If you want your jeans to fit, the wood is sawn in two at knee height and then screwed together at a 90° angle. If you want the jeans to stand up, you can save yourself this step.
Then screw the small chipboard onto the two wooden slats. The wooden slats should be hip-width apart. The chipboard should be small enough to fit into jeans (hip area) but large enough to serve as a base for the flower pot.

2. Make legs

Now add muscle and flesh to the legs by wrapping them in scraps of fabric, Styrofoam, or bits of insulation.

3. Dress up

Pull the jeans over your legs and tie them together at the top with clips or something similar to keep them in place. Then insert the wooden slats into the bottom of the shoes, glue or cement them in place and then completely fill them with gravel or cement (rub the base well with oil so the shoes don't stick to it!).
Prop your jeans up until glue or cement is well dry!

4. Make hip

Place the flower pot and saucer on the wooden platform. Now stabilize your hips. It's best molded from construction foam, but you can shape it with glue and some filler.

tips

It is easier and more stable if you put your jeans on. So the wooden slats need to carry significantly less weight. If the jeans are to stand up, the wooden slats should be significantly stronger than if they just sit.
