Regardless of the decision on how you want to grow the tree, the right location plays an important role. Depending on the plum variety, a sunny, wind-protected spot is recommended. Because plums do well in a variety of soils, you only need a little compost to enrich them.
Plant the cuttings directly at the future location. For cultivation from the plum stone, it is advisable to fill the flower pot with soil from the future location.

Intensive care of the little plant is necessary during the first period. Water the cuttings regularly. Avoid drying out the soil. In this way you support the rooting process. The use of rainwater is recommended.
Draw from a core
The development of the germ takes about four to six weeks. Store the core in the freezer for a few days. This speeds up the process, because plums are cold germs. In addition, open the shell with a nutcracker.
As soon as the first cotyledons appear and the seedling reaches a height of around 20 centimeters, it feels comfortable outdoors. Watch out for a tree disc. This must be kept free of weeds and other plants. A layer of grass mulch ensures a favorable soil climate.
