The plant or the seeds are ready. Now you are faced with the question: "Where do I plant the catnip?" Below you will find out what to consider when choosing a location.

A sun worshiper who doesn't shy away from the penumbra
It should be in full sun to partial shade. Catnip does not feel comfortable in deep shade. Varieties with gray leaves flirt with a location in full sun and cope well with dry periods. Green-leaved varieties, on the other hand, prefer a sunny to partially shaded location.
Variety-dependent soil requirements
The soil for the catnip should be medium, well drained and loose. Ordinary garden soil is usually excellent. The following soil characteristics are still accommodating in growth:
- medium to high nutrient content
- fresh to moderately moist
- pH of 6.4
- gravelly-loamy to sandy-loamy
tips and tricks
Since catnip is a popular pasture for bees, you should not plant it directly next to a seat. Also remember that catnip attracts cats like mosquitoes to mosquitoes!
