Use of dried pomegranate seeds

Dry pomegranate seeds yourself

You can also dry pomegranate seeds yourself. However, this type of preservation proves to be quite expensive under house conditions. The cores must

  • at low temperatures (40°-70 °C) and
  • slightly open flap in the oven or
  • dry in a special dehydrator.

They lose a lot of vitamins, taste and aroma.

Use dried pomegranates as winter decorations

The use of whole dried pomegranates for decoration, especially in the Advent and Christmas season, is possible without much effort. If your stored pomegranates feel so woody on the outside that you don't want to eat them anymore, just let them soak further e.g. B. dry out on the heater. The unsightly shell can be freshened up by rubbing it with red paint or dusting it with gold powder from the craft store.

The pulp of the dried pomegranate seeds changes its initially red color and becomes darker. However, the change does not affect the quality.
