Choosing the location for the laurel
Basically, the real laurel prefers a relatively sunny location, but it can also be in the shade if necessary. A sandy and nutrient-rich soil is ideal, this does not have to be particularly fertilized for the laurel. The wintering of laurel
In nature, laurel grows in Europe only in the southern Mediterranean countries. Since it can only withstand temperatures below freezing to a very limited extent, it is mostly grown in pots in Central Europe and harvested for use in the kitchen. Ideally, you can overwinter a potted laurel in a bright room with temperatures around five degrees Celsius, where the laurel is regularly and sufficiently watered.
