Caucasica is one of the most popular cherry laurel species, as this variety is particularly fast-growing and forms dense hedges. It differs from other laurel cherries in its deep, dark green, narrow foliage.

The planting distance also depends on the size

The planting distance you have to keep depends on the height of the trees purchased. For shrubs that are about one meter tall, the most commercially available size, you need three for each meter of hedge. If you opt for young plants that are only thirty centimeters tall, you will need five laurel cherries per meter. The individual plants must never be planted so densely that they hinder each other's growth.

Since the "Caucasica" cherry laurel can grow about forty centimeters in height and width every year, you should keep a corresponding minimum distance to house walls. When planning the hedge, keep in mind that it has to be cut regularly all around.

tips and tricks

A few larger shrubs form an attractive privacy screen. The cherry laurel can be easily propagated by cuttings, so that you can continue the row of shrubs over time at no extra cost.
