Don't panic if your Passiflora suddenly turns yellow leaves, there are usually no dangerous diseases behind it. With a little extra care, the passion flower will quickly feel good again.

The cause is often incorrect watering and fertilizing

Yellow leaves appearing in a Passiflora in spring and summer are usually an indication of either too much or too little water. You should be particularly careful with waterlogging, which the plant does not like at all. Therefore, ensure good drainage in the pot, for example with a layer of expanded clay (€19.73) under the actual substrate. The passion flower also does not suffer from drying out, because it needs a lot of water, especially during the flowering period - the plant is one of the heavy consumers. It is therefore better to fertilize the Passiflora weekly in summer instead of just every two weeks, as stated in many guides. Then you will also be rewarded with many beautiful flowers.

tips and tricks

In autumn and winter, however, a few yellow leaves are perfectly normal. Pluck them off as soon as you notice them.
