The Passiflora plant family is very large: it includes more than 500 different species, all of which, however, have the beautiful, very showy flowers in common. The flowering time of the individual passion flowers can differ in detail, but always extends over several months.

Passion flowers are summer bloomers
In this country cultivated Passiflora, the botanically correct name of the passion flowers, begin their flowering period around May / June - and often show their splendor well into September. The individual flowers are only one to two days old, although in some species they can also close overnight. Passiflora kept in the garden or on the balcony usually bloom more luxuriantly than the houseplants that are kept smaller. The climbing plant can grow up to six meters (some specimens even higher).

If your passion flower does not want to bloom, there can be many reasons. In many cases, the unwillingness to flower is due to the wrong location, because the tropical plant prefers a sunny and warm place.
