If you are looking for a special ornamental plant, the passion flower with its beautiful flowers, which can be up to 18 centimeters in size depending on the variety, is just right for you. Passion flowers come in many colors, with the blue and red flowering species being particularly popular. The flowers have a conspicuous halo surrounded by ten bracts. In the middle, the five stamens and three stigmas protrude like columns. The individual blossom usually only shows its splendor for one or two days before it fades - the plant usually develops a large number of blossoms, which it shows over several months. With a bit of luck, fruits (inedible in most species) will develop that contain seeds.
