Some time after flowering, before the indoor calla lily goes dormant, the leaves turn yellow. This is completely normal and part of the natural life cycle of the plant. It is different if the leaves turn yellow or brown beforehand.

Leaves turn yellow and wilt

With almost all bulbous plants you can observe that the leaves turn yellow and wither after flowering. This is a natural process by which the calla bulb gathers strength for the next flowering period.

If the leaves turn yellow or brown beforehand, there are almost always care errors:

  • Location too sunny or too dark
  • Too little moisture during the flowering period
  • Substrate not rich in nutrients
  • Viral disease from polluted soil
