Color is the design element that is noticed first in every planting. Colors and color combinations create spontaneous moods in the viewer. White peasant hydrangeas look elegant and radiant, and they also harmonize with all other colors.

There are many different peasant hydrangeas that have white flowers

Garden design with white peasant hydrangeas

Especially in areas of the garden with little light - many farmer's hydrangeas prefer semi-shady to shady locations - light, especially white, flower colors have a friendly and inviting effect. They also create an attractive, bright atmosphere in combination with pink and violet tones. A combination of different farmer's hydrangea varieties with different flower colors creates a varied and visually interesting planting, whereby white can always be used as a separating element between the colors. A monochrome white planting also looks very subtle and airy due to the different nuances.

The most beautiful varieties of white-flowering peasant hydrangeas

In the table below you will find an overview of some of the most beautiful white-flowering peasant hydrangeas, both ball-shaped and plate-shaped (the so-called “lacecaps”) varieties. In ball-shaped flowers, most of the inner florets are sterile, while in lacecaps only an outer rim of sterile flowers surrounds the fertile inner florets. These flowers look quite similar to those of Hydrangea serrata varieties.

tips and tricks

Some hydrangea species and varieties, e.g. B. the peasant hydrangeas "Coco" and "The Bride", but also many panicle hydrangeas change their flower color during the opening and fading, mostly from pure white to green or matt pink tones. These color changes can be excellently incorporated into the design.
