The flower structure of panicle hydrangeas (botanically Hydrangea paniculata) differs greatly from all other species. Here the flowers are arranged in elongated panicles, somewhat like the perennial phlox.

Average flowering time of the different varieties
The different varieties of the panicle hydrangea flower quite differently, many even starting in August. However, there is one exception that blooms early: the dwarf hydrangea "Dharuma" shows its creamy-white flowers as early as May and June.
