It is best not to care for crocuses indoors if there are cats and other pets in the household.
Both the crocus bulbs and the seed filaments contain picrococin, which can cause stomach upset or even very serious symptoms of poisoning in cats - and other pets.
If you don't want to do without crocuses, place pots out of reach. When planting crocuses in the garden, make sure the cat doesn't dig up the bulbs and nibble on them.
