Where can I get suitable pallets from?
You can order Euro pallets (€29.99) online, for example. Prices vary, as do the qualities on offer. If you would like to build different things from the pallets, it might be worth buying a set of 10. The pallets are offered new or used, 1st and 2nd choice, but also flamed and glazed or planed and sanded.
Disposable pallets are cheaper than Euro pallets, but not as stable, because they are usually made of compressed wood and possibly protected against mold growth with poison. They are therefore not suitable for building a garden swing or swing lounger.
How do I build a garden swing out of pallets?
Plane and sand the pallet(s) to keep the wood splinter-free and smooth. You can do this work step before or after any necessary sawing of the pallet. A swing is built very quickly, which consists of the complete Euro pallet. All you have to do is hang them up on a swing frame (€273.99) or on the tree(s) using stable ropes.
Alternatively, you can also make simple swing boards for a children's swing or a more complex swing bench from a disassembled Euro pallet. You will surely find the corresponding assembly instructions on the Internet. With soft padding, such a swing quickly becomes a favorite spot. Always pay attention to a solid attachment.
