- Complete spool or just change the line?
- Changing the thread made easy - How to wind the thread correctly
The cutting line is the heart of the lawn trimmer. If the spool runs out of wire, a new line must be made so that you can use the device properly again. These instructions explain how to change the line in the grass trimmer in just a few simple steps.

Complete spool or just change the line?
Find out in advance whether your grass trimmer (€88.00) is actually designed for a line change. Inexpensive models are designed in such a way that a completely new spool is required each time the cutting line is used up. The cheap purchase turns out to be expensive in retrospect, because a new line head is more expensive than a simple wire.
To make matters worse, you are tied to the manufacturer when buying replacement spools because the spools are not compatible with third-party devices. It is to be rated as advantageous that the replacement of a thread spool is done in no time at all with the help of the operating instructions.
Changing the thread made easy - How to wind the thread correctly
Thanks to the well thought-out design, the spools on high-quality grass trimmers are reused. Only a new cutting line is on the shopping list. The operating instructions reveal the correct thread size and length. You can buy the right wire inexpensively in any hardware store. How to wind the thread correctly:
- Securing the grass trimmer: Pull out the power plug, remove the battery or remove the spark plug cable
- Open line head by pressing on the two lateral clamps
- Pull off the cover and take out the empty spool
- Bend the new wire in half and hook it into the guide of the double line spool
- Wind both halves of the line parallel to each other in a clockwise direction
- Insert each of the two ends into the corresponding slots of the line head
Please make sure that each of the two thread ends protrudes by a maximum of 10 to 20 cm. Pull each wire taut before replacing the lid.
tips
If the line on the grass trimmer breaks, a new wire is not necessarily required. With a little finesse, you can repair the cutting line. Locate the thread ends in the spool, pull them out and rethread the wire ends into the slots on the edge. In order for the thread to last longer, you should soak it in water for 24 hours before using it again.
