Succulents are among the low-maintenance houseplants that make gardening life easy for beginners. The floral life artists cause headaches when they rigorously keep the longed-for blossom splendor under lock and key. You can find out here which trick you can use to elicit flowering from the plants.

Lowering the temperature makes succulents willing to bloom - this is how it works
Cacti and other succulent species need a cold stimulus to bud. While this process occurs naturally on hardy succulents, give your houseplants a little help with the following strategy:
- Relocate succulent houseplants from heated rooms from November to February
- Spend in a bright to sunny location with temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius
- Alternatively, lower the night-time temperatures in living rooms by about 5 degrees in winter
- Water only enough to keep the root ball from drying out
- Do not fertilize from October/November to February/March
With the combination of a cooler location and modified care, you prepare succulent flowering plants for another flowering period. It is also advantageous if cacti, succulent plants and other succulents can spend the summer on the sunny balcony in the fresh air. After an acclimatization of 8 days in a partially shaded location, direct sunlight promotes flowering induction.
tips
Winter-blooming succulents, like the wonderful poinsettia, go into dormancy in spring. So that the enchanting blossoms unfold again in the coming Advent, place the popular houseplant in a cool place with 15 to 17 degrees Celsius for 4 to 6 weeks. Then pot the succulent flower beauty in fresh soil and place it in a sunny window seat at 20 to 24 degrees.
