High temperatures during the growth phase
During the growth phase in summer, the date palm needs high temperatures. It is ideal when the location is around 25 degrees.
Therefore, place the date palm as bright and sunny as possible. But be careful not to burn the leaves and turn brown.
Overwinter date palm cooler in winter
In winter, the date palm prefers cooler temperatures. During hibernation, these should be around 15 degrees, but not lower than 10 degrees.
When kept outdoors, older date palms tolerate frost temperatures down to -6 degrees at least for a certain period of time.

The trunk of a date palm develops quite sharp edges on which you can easily injure yourself. To be on the safe side, you should therefore wear gloves when caring for date palms.
