How to dye a rose the color you want
There are various methods for this, because you can dip the flower heads into the paint, spray them on or - and this option has proven itself - let them be soaked with paint. All you have to do is color the water with color and place the cut rose in there. The flower will absorb the colored water and transport it to all parts of the plant, eventually soaking the petals with the color. However, this trick only works with white or very light pink roses. Before coloring, you should cut the cut surface at an angle of about 45° - this makes it easier for the plant to absorb water - and also remove all leaves. The last step is necessary to reduce evaporation - the less water evaporates through the leaves, the more color gets into the flower.
Which colors can be used?
For coloring, you can very well use ink, which comes not only in blue or black, but also in other colors. But food coloring or watercolors (e.g. from a school paint box) are also very suitable. If the desired shade is not included in the color selection, you can also mix it yourself from the primary colors offered. The intensity of the color can be regulated by the length of the treatment: the longer you leave the rose in the colored water, the stronger the color will be.
