Like other buttercups, the globeflower blooms in bright yellow. However, their spherical flower is usually closed. However, some cultivated forms have more or less open flowers and surprise the viewer with different shades of color such as orange.

While the wild form only flowers for a relatively short time in May and June, breeders have been able to extend the flowering period for some varieties to August. Not only the viewers are happy about this, but also many bees. Because for them the globe flowers are a rich source of food. Unfortunately, the globe flower has become rare in the meantime, which is why it is also a nature reserve. It prefers a moist, semi-shady location.
The most important thing about the flower:
- Wild form flowers yellow
- Flowering period from May to June
- well suited as "bee pasture"
- Cultivated forms bloom until August
- Breeding with different flower colors possible
