The bell vine is very warmth-loving and sensitive to frost. Even temperatures of five degrees damage the plant so lastingly that it dies as a result. That is why the bell morning glory in our latitudes is mainly cultivated as an annual. However, you can overwinter particularly beautiful and vigorously growing specimens indoors.
The bell vine must be brought into a warm place for the winter in autumnGet warm in time
To prevent frost damage, the climbing plants have to move when temperatures start to fall in autumn. Shorten all shoots to about thirty to fifty centimeters and plant the bell morning glory in a container filled with commercially available potting soil.
Place it in a bright spot on the windowsill. Again, the temperature should not drop below ten degrees. A cool bedroom or the stairwell is ideal. During the hibernation, the bell vine is watered with restraint and not fertilized.
