Anyone who has an apple tree knows the problem: In autumn, so many fruits ripen that it is necessary to conserve at least part of the fruit. In the following article you will find various ways of preserving the apples.

In addition to the fruit, sugar and spices, you only need suitable containers with a glass lid, rubber ring and metal clip to preserve the fruit. Alternatively, twist-off glasses are suitable. You can preserve the apples in a preserving machine or in the oven.
Recipe:
- Peel the apples and carefully cut out bruises.
- Quarter the fruit and cut out the core.
- Make a brew from one liter of water, 300 grams of sugar, a packet of vanilla sugar and some cinnamon if you like.
- Stack the apples as tightly as possible in the jars.
- Fill up with the hot brew, leaving a two-centimetre-wide rim at the top.
- Seal and place on the griddle of the saucepan.
- Pour in enough water so that the vessels are half in it.
- Boil at 90 degrees for thirty minutes.
Alternatively, you can place the glasses in the oven’s drip tray and pour in two centimeters of water. Slide it in on the lowest rail, set the temperature to 180 degrees and keep an eye on the food. As soon as small bubbles appear in the jars, switch off and leave the apples in the oven for another thirty minutes.

Dried apples are a healthy and figure-friendly snack:
- Wash the fruit, deseed and cut into rings.
- Stir 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of sugar into one liter of water and bathe the apple rings in it.
- Drain and place side by side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Put in the oven. Do not close the door completely to allow moisture to escape.
- Dehydrate at 50 degrees for about 5 hours.
Alternatively, you can thread the apple rings and air dry them or use a dehydrator to dry them.

You can easily make this yourself. If you fill the apple juice into clean bottles and pasteurize it, you can also preserve apples that are not so nice in this way.

What is little known is that apples that have been placed in water that is fifty degrees warm for about two minutes keep much better. It is important that you let the fruit dry for eight hours after the bath. Then store the apples in a cool, dark place on grates that have been wiped down with a vinegar cloth.
