How to care for ice begonias on the balcony?

On the balcony, the ice begonia needs only slightly more care than in the flower bed. The substrate in the balcony box should always be a little damp and only dry slightly on the surface before you water it again. However, under no circumstances should waterlogging occur, otherwise your ice begonia will die. Off and add a little liquid fertilizer to the irrigation water.

Are Ice Begonias Hardy?

Unfortunately, the ice begonia is anything but hardy. It freezes to death at around 0 °C. Often a new plant is simply bought in the spring. But that is not necessary, because you can easily overwinter the ice begonia.

For this, however, the plant must be brought to a frost-free place in good time. Temperatures around 15 °C are ideal. If there is enough light there, the polar begonia will continue to bloom, sometimes throughout the winter.
