Compared to other types of privet, the gold privet grows moderately fast. Nevertheless, its annual growth is impressive at 30 to 60 cm. This increment applies equally to height and width.

Different information can be found regarding the maximum achievable height. While some nurseries assume 2.5 m in height, others promise more. Occasionally, with appropriate upbringing and care, there is talk of up to 5 m. Of course, the height is also a question of age and the living conditions under which the gold privet has to grow.
