By using your plant pot as a room divider, you combine practicality with stylish interior design. Placed in the middle of the room, the planter is an eye-catcher. If you build it yourself, your visitors will be amazed.

Which plant pot is suitable?
In order to really make an impression, the plant pot must not sink into the room. Accordingly, it should have a minimum height of half a meter. Bulbous, small pots are better off in the flower bed. On this page you can read how to build an XXL planter yourself.
There are no limits when it comes to materials. It is best to adapt the appearance of your flower pot to your furnishing style.
tips
Since you will probably have to move your planter around the house more often when cleaning, it is advisable to place it on a planter.
Build your own planter
For a harmonious look, it is important to use a material that looks natural but also fits into the interior. Terracotta, fiberglass and raffia always look good.
Terracotta planter
Would you like to replicate the high-quality material? Then you need a blank, which you either cast out of concrete yourself or tinker out of Styrofoam. Both instructions can be found under the corresponding links. A polystyrene planter is particularly light and therefore even more advantageous than the concrete model. With the right design, no one can see that it is just a disguised planter.
Fiberglass planter
Here, too, you cover a blank with fiberglass mats from the hardware store, which you cut to the appropriate size.
Bast planter
- Get some raffia from the hardware store.
- Braid the strands horizontally around several vertical wooden sticks.
- Build a rectangular shape this way.
- Put a mortar barrel in it, fill it with soil and plant it.
The exotic room divider
Are you looking for an unusual room divider? Then glue bamboo sticks close together on the outer edge of a planter. Cut off the protruding ends.
Note: Your room divider absolutely needs drainage. Since a drainage hole is out of the question, we have put together helpful alternatives here.
