Climbing tub plants are best kept on the house wall. There you will find support to grow in height. However, they often do not come into their own in the sheltered place. By building your own plant pot with integrated trellis, you can place the tall plants anywhere you like.

manual
- For the grid you need a steel mat.
- With a cut-off grinder you can adjust the dimensions of your bucket size.
- Then deburr the ends.
- To do this, file off the sharp-edged ends with a metal file.
- Go to the bucket.
- Drill a hole in the ground for drainage.
- Place a shard of pottery over it to prevent clogging.
- Pour a layer of expanded clay (€19.73) into the bucket.
- Pour potting soil over it.
- Place the chosen planting in water for some time until the root ball has absorbed enough liquid…
- Plant the crop.
- Go back to the trellis.
- Connect the individual steel wires with some floral wire.
- In order for your structure to be really stable, two to five connection points are recommended.
- Now carefully pull the finished grid over the plant.
- Tuck the ends gently into the ground.
tips
Planters with trellis are ideal as privacy screens for your terrace.
layout
To adapt the trellis to the rest of the garden design, you can spray or paint it as you wish. Make sure that you use non-toxic and weather-resistant paint. However, keep in mind that your vine will eventually overgrow much of the trellis, so you should consider whether it's really worth the effort. However, if you plant your self-made planter with annual or deciduous plants, the trellis will be bare in winter. Then painting is recommended.
