Choosing a specimen in the world of verbs can be difficult. On the other hand, it is easy to reconcile all verbs in the question of a suitable location.

Location and soil requirements

Both annual and perennial verbena prefer a full sun location. They can also cope with a semi-shady place. Only in deep shade do they not thrive. The substrate should have the following characteristics:

  • nutritious
  • evenly moist
  • not prone to waterlogging and dryness
  • slightly acidic to neutral
  • permeable

Whether outdoors in a bed or in a pot on the balcony, you can plant your verbena in a draughty location without worrying. Verbena are wind resistant. If you want to hibernate them, bring them indoors in late fall.

tips and tricks

Before planting, it is advisable to add compost to the soil to give the verbena a good start.
