A large number of garden and balcony plants contain substances that are toxic to cats. With one exception, mint is a harmless plant for cats. You can find out what it is here.

This mint is not good for cats
The multifaceted variety of aromatic species and varieties awakens a great passion for collecting in hobby gardeners. As a blessed feline subject, you can devote yourself to this passion without hesitation, as long as you leave out this mint:
- Pennyroyal contains the poisonous pulegone
- the essential oil causes vomiting, diarrhea and respiratory paralysis
Pennyroyal can be recognized by its creeping, rarely ascending growth. The tiny leaves are ovate to oval and sit opposite on sparsely hairy stems. A pale pink or white flower appears from July to September. The plant also exudes a sharp, slightly aromatic scent. Preparation as a tea is strongly discouraged. Pulegone is not only toxic to cats, but to humans as well.
