Potatoes are versatile, even their juice can be used. Potato juice is an ancient natural remedy. Due to its neutralizing effect, it has a healing effect on ailments in the gastrointestinal tract. Since potatoes are not normally missing in any household, it is easy to make potato juice yourself if required.

Worth knowing about the potato
Potatoes can be processed into a wide variety of dishes, from jacket potatoes to fries, and are popular everywhere.
However, few people are aware of the healing properties of potato juice.
The potato contains vitamins, minerals and salts that are of great importance for human metabolism. Especially for the gastrointestinal tract, the juice of the potato brings a welcome neutralization of excess acid.
If you are prone to heartburn from greasy and hearty foods, you should make sure you have enough potato juice before you eat to combat any heartburn that arises immediately. However, taking potato juice is not recommended in the long term. A course of two to three weeks with 50 ml each for lunch and dinner is sufficient.
Potato juice is recommended for external use in the following cases:

juice potatoes
You have two options for extracting the juice from the potatoes, either you grate the potatoes on a kitchen grater or you use the juicer.
Manual juicing
- Peel the potatoes and remove the eyes.
- Grate the potatoes on a fine kitchen grater.
- Place the potato snips in a kitchen towel and squeeze out the juice by hand.
- Use the juice as soon as possible as it will oxidize and turn brown. The effect then wears off noticeably.
use of the juicer
- Peel the potatoes and remove the eyes here as well.
- Depending on the capacity of the juicer, it may be necessary to cut up large potatoes.
- Juice the potatoes and collect the pomace in a separate container.
Both manual and electric juicing produces pomace, the relatively dry snippets. These are not thrown away with potatoes, but can be prepared immediately as potato pancakes or rösti.
