The delicious kiwis are extremely rich in vitamins and the ideal snack for in between. All you have to do is divide the kiwi in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. It is different with a fruit salad, for example. For such use it is necessary to peel the kiwi.

Interesting facts about the kiwi
The low-calorie kiwi is full of vitamins and minerals. It is one of the most nutritious fruits and also provides the body with plenty of fiber for good digestion. Scientific studies show that regular consumption of kiwis has extremely positive effects on human health.
The skin of the kiwi is actually edible, but you should only eat an organic kiwi with the skin on. Here you can be sure that the skin has not been treated with pesticides. If the hairs on the skin bother you, you can remove them with a vegetable brush.
How is a kiwi peeled cleanly?
When processing all types of fruit and vegetables, there are tips and tricks on how best to proceed, including when peeling the kiwi.
This trick works particularly well with very ripe fruit:
- Cut the ends of the kiwi into thin slices.
- Gently slide a spoon under the skin and twist it around the pulp.
- When the shell is completely detached, it can be ripped open with your fingers and removed.
If the kiwis are still quite firm, proceed a little differently:
- Again, cut off both ends of the fruit with a knife.
- Place the fruit on a work board.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the skin into thin strips from top to bottom.
- Follow the contour of the kiwi.
- The advantage of this method is that the pulp does not come into contact with the small hairs on the skin.
You can also easily peel off hard kiwis with a vegetable peeler. Cut the ends of the fruit into thin slices and use the peeler to remove thin strips of skin from top to bottom.
The glass trick
If you don't have a suitable knife or spoon at hand, but still want to eat a kiwi, a drinking glass for peeling is sufficient. However, you must first cut the fruit in half lengthways. You can also use a butter knife to do this. Now press the kiwi with the cut surface to the upper rim of the glass. The edge should push under the kiwi skin. Now pull the fruit downwards with a little pressure so that the pulp comes out with the glass. At the end you hold the bowl in your hand, half the kiwi is in the glass.
