Although the ginkgo tree is considered easy to care for, it is not entirely uncomplicated. So it does not belong to the deciduous but to the coniferous trees, although it looks like it has foliage. Its leaves turn bright yellow in autumn before falling.

In summer, most types of ginkgo are fresh green, but there are also variegated varieties with yellow-green stripes, sometimes with a few yellow leaves. If all the leaves turn yellow, then your ginkgo is definitely not feeling well.
The cause is usually the water and/or nutrient supply. Neither too much nor too little water is good for the ginkgo and it also reacts sensitively to an excess of fertilizer and a lack of light.
Possible causes of yellow leaves:
- too wet soil
- too little light
- incorrectly fertilized
- lack of water
tips
If your ginkgo suddenly develops yellow leaves, the first thing to do is check the moisture in the soil.
