Thuja or tree of life is a fairly undemanding plant, which is therefore very suitable for a hedge. In order for the trees to grow well, the soil should have sufficient nutrients. Which substrate is suitable for thuja?

The right soil for the Thuja hedge
- water storing
- water permeable
- slightly humorous
- not too sour
Normal garden soil is sufficient in most cases if it is not too sandy or too firm. It is enriched with compost, horn shavings (32.93€) or deposited manure. Then you don't have to fertilize at all or only a little in the first few years.
It is important that the soil is always slightly damp, but under no circumstances should waterlogging develop. Too much water in the soil causes root rot. If necessary, create a drainage in the ground.
tips
Care should be taken when fertilizing Thuja, as the tree of life is easily over-fertilized, especially with mineral fertilizers. Organic fertilizers such as compost, manure and horn shavings are more suitable.
