Thuja Brabant is a flat-rooted plant that develops a strong root system over time. There is definitely a risk that paving slabs will be lifted, although this can take a very long time. To be on the safe side, you should keep a sufficient planting distance to paths and neighboring properties.
Thuja Brabant does not do well with road salt. For this reason alone, a larger distance to paths that are gritted in winter makes sense.
