The ground under the arbor has settled and the cottage is now crooked. You may also want to redesign the garden and place the tool shed in a different place. There are many reasons why the garden house has to be raised as a whole. With a little preparation and a few helping hands, this can usually be done without any problems.
Prefabricated garden houses can be raised under certain circumstances
The preliminary work
- Clear the garden shed (€24.90) completely empty.
- Remove all anchors to foundation or soil.
- Check that the garden shed is stable enough to be lifted as a whole.
Materials needed
- wooden wedges
- Wooden beams with an edge length of about ten centimeters
- stable wooden boards
- an iron bar
- several jacks, depending on the size of the house
Since this act of strength is not manageable for one person, ask neighbors and friends for help.
method
First lift the house with the wooden wedges far enough that you can place the jack underneath. Lever up the arbor so that you can slide stable wooden beams underneath.
If the garden house is stable on these, you can put on the jack again and raise the house to the required height. Always put boards and beams underneath.
It's easier with a crane
If the garden shed is too big to lift with hydraulic jacks, you can rent a mobile crane from a regional transport company. However, keep in mind that this requires a suitable parking space and sufficient space.
What to do if the house cannot be raised?
Then, unfortunately, only the dismantling remains. You don't have to disassemble the garden shed into all its individual parts. It is usually possible to dismantle the roof as a whole and the side walls in large pieces, so that the subsequent assembly can be carried out quite quickly.
tips
The trolley jack required for this campaign can be hired inexpensively from many hardware stores. Some models undercut a ground clearance of ten centimeters. As a result, relatively small wedges are sufficient to get under the house with the devices.
