If you have decided on a used garden shed or would like to move the existing arbor, the dismantling work needs to be done before assembly. This is necessary because due to the weight, it is rarely possible to carry the assembled house through the garden. The following procedure has proven itself:

Even self-built garden houses can be dismantled step by step
  • Before dismantling, take photos of the garden house (€24.90), this will make it much easier to rebuild later.
  • Dismantle the arbor into individual parts.
  • Label them and transport them to the new parking space.
  • Set it up again using the photos and, if still available, the assembly instructions.

If the house has to be disposed of because it has become rotten and unsightly, there are also a few points to consider. We will go into this in more detail in the last paragraph of our article.

removal of the roof

First remove the bitumen shingles or the roofing felt. If these materials are still good, they can be reused. However, since roofing felt rots over the years, it can make sense to use new materials when erecting the house.

The roof and crossbeam can often be removed in one piece and carried to the planned location.

dismantling of the walls

Now you could of course unscrew each board of the side walls individually. However, this rarely makes sense. A number of planks can usually be dismantled in one piece, so that you can disassemble the house into parts that are not too heavy.

Dismantling the floor

Rot and mold like to spread, especially in the floorboards, so the floor should be dismantled into all its individual parts. You should discard damaged floorboards and exchange them for new boards.

The old house has to be disposed of?

Again, start with the disassembly at the roof and work your way down.

  • Collect metal parts separately, sometimes you can even get a few euros for them at the regional scrap dealer.
  • Since the wood is usually treated, it must not be burned in your own fireplace, but belongs at the recycling center.

Alternatively, you can order a large container for disposal. However, this is significantly more expensive than removing the neatly separated materials yourself.

tips

It is very helpful for dismantling and rebuilding if you still have the assembly instructions for the gazebo. Therefore, keep them safe after assembly.
