Living stones are among the succulents, which also include the succulent. Unlike this, however, they resemble less a plant than a pebble, from which they can hardly be distinguished, at least at first glance.

Planting living rocks properly
Don't put live rocks in regular potting soil, this is not good for succulents. It is better to use special succulent substrate or mix soil with sand, as is usual with thick-leaf plants.
Choose a slightly deeper pot and not a shallow dish as the living rocks have taproots that grow deep. Outdoors, plant the Living Stones in a spot that is sheltered from rain and the blazing midday sun.
Water and fertilize live stones properly
Live stones should be watered sparingly and excess water should be able to drain away. In high heat, they should be kept rather dry. Young plants need a little more water than old plants.
Overwinter living rocks properly
Living stones should not overwinter in the heated living room, it is too warm there. The winter quarters should be light and cool, at around 5 °C to 10 °C. The cooler it is in winter quarters, the less often you water your living stones. Most of the time, watering them every three to five weeks is enough. Fertilizer is not necessary throughout the winter.
Multiply Living Stones
If you would like to have more Living Stones, you can multiply the existing ones by dividing them or with the help of seeds from specialist shops. However, Living Stones grown from seed take a few years to bloom for the first time.
Sowing is possible all year round indoors. Outdoor sowing in spring or autumn is recommended. At a temperature of approx. 15 °C to 20 °C, the seeds will germinate after around 5 to 20 days.
The essentials in brief:
- easy-care
- not hardy
- warm bright location
- protect against waterlogging and the blazing midday sun
- water rather little, young plants a little more
- Fertilize sparingly once a month
