The Christmas cactus is native to the Brazilian rainforest. It's bright there, but not directly sunny. In order for it to thrive indoors, you need to find a location that recreates the original conditions as closely as possible.

How to find the best location for the Christmas cactus
- Light to half shade
- no direct sun
- protected from drafts
- 21 degrees during the day
- at night at 17 to 19 degrees
- keep cooler in summer
In summer you are welcome to put a Christmas cactus outside. However, it must be brought back indoors in good time before it blooms in winter.
In winter, the Christmas cactus finds a place in the flower window. Make sure there is sufficient humidity and occasionally spray the plant with lime-free water.
tips
The Christmas cactus is a short-day plant. From September to December it needs complete darkness for at least twelve hours. If it is light longer, the cactus will not bloom.
