Native to Madagascar, the Christ's Thorn blooms in March and April without human intervention. However, this presupposes that the plant overwinters in a suitable place for it and is then placed back in a sunny place.

Can I influence the flowering of my Christ thorn?
Your Christ Thorn, which is otherwise easy to care for, only blooms after a so-called dry period, during which it is only watered very little and also gets less light. If you postpone this dry period, you will also change the flowering time. The regular flower colors are white, rose, pink or red. In the case of hybrids, other colors may also be possible. Like all other parts of the plant, the flowers are poisonous.
The most important:
- flowers only after a dry period
- water very sparingly during winter
- some time keep exposure under 10 hours daily
tips
By postponing the dry period, you can also postpone the flowering time of your Christ's thorn.
