Sometimes it can happen that the flamingo flower starts new flowers, but these are no longer red or white as before, but green in color. It is not uncommon for the bracts of these plants to turn greenish as a result of the aging process. However, maintenance errors can also occur.

Is the plant too dark?
In order for the Anthurium to fully develop the bright color of the bracts, the location must be bright enough, but direct sunlight should be avoided. Sometimes, however, the natural light on the window sill is not enough, for example because a large eaves creates too much shading. A plant lamp switched on by the hour (€21.99) can help here.
tips
There are also anthuriums that are treated with hormones for sale, giving them brilliant white blooms. If the effect of these substances wears off, the flowers become slightly greenish. Unfortunately, little can be done about it. However, this rare flower color can also account for the special charm of the plant.
