Zamioculcas zamiifolia, the full botanical name of this extremely attractive houseplant, originally comes from South and East Africa. Here, the plant, which grows up to about 150 centimeters tall with the pinnate leaves, has adapted to the often very dry climate. The plant, which we also call "zamie" or "lucky feather", belongs to the succulents, i. H. it stores a lot of water in its fleshy leaf stalks and leaves.

The Zamioculcas like it bright but not too sunny

Place the lucky feather in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight

The lucky feather is considered to be very easy to care for, as it rarely needs to be watered or fertilized - quite the opposite, because the various problems appear primarily in connection with excessive care. So keep the plant as short as possible, this also applies to the light. Although Zamioculcas prefers a bright, but by no means sunny location, it also does well in rather dark rooms.

tips

The Zamioculcas zamiifolia is a houseplant that can also be placed outside over the summer if the weather is suitable. However, the temperatures should not drop below 18 °C.
