Date palms are also such popular houseplants because they grow comparatively slowly. They don't need to be repotted as often. While the date palm grows quite tall in nature, it remains relatively small when cared for in a bucket.

Date palms grow slowly
In nature, the growth of a date palm reaches up to 25 meters. In room culture, it usually does not get higher than five meters. The fronds are up to 60 centimeters wide.
It takes time for a date palm to grow out of its bucket or pot. You don't have to repot date palms as often as other indoor plants.
It is usually sufficient if you plant the palm tree in a new pot every four to five years. It's always time to move when the roots grow out of the bottom of the planter or the date palm pushes over the edge of the pot.
tips
The growth of a date palm in a bucket can be limited. If you prune the root ball before transplanting, the palm tree will grow even more slowly.
