The multifaceted family of the bromeliads is home to both sun and shade plants. Consequently, the location claims differ in some details. With regard to the general framework, however, most species pull together.

Bromeliads like it bright and warm

General site conditions at a glance

Regardless of whether you are cultivating a pineapple, tillandsia or other type of bromeliad. The following framework conditions should be ensured at the location so that the exotic beauties feel comfortable:

  • A bright window seat with protection from the blazing midday sun
  • Normal room temperatures, not below 14 degrees Celsius
  • Humidity of 60 percent and higher

From these premises it follows that a bromeliad likes to stay on the balcony and terrace throughout the summer. At the same time, the temperatures must not fall below the 14-degree mark, even at night. We therefore recommend that you consider moving outdoors no earlier than mid-June.
